We’ve seen huge draft-day trade before. When it comes to the NFL draft and quarterbacks, when a team targets their guy, they are more than willing to pay dearly to be sure they do.
This is the mindset we went into with this latest 2025 mock draft after one week of preseason games. With word that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is very much a fan of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Sanders’ dad Deion spent five seasons with the Cowboys and was named an All-Pro four times during his tenure.
We are confident if the Cowboys selected the younger Sanders, he’d be happy to be there but it’s hard to imagine he will be available if the Cowboys make the playoffs and are picking in the 20s.
So we decided to flip the entire first round on its head and find a trade that would allow Dallas to get up to the No. 1 overall pick. In this scenario, the Cowboys send the No. 25 pick in 2025 and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 to go up to No. 1 in 2025 and get their guy.
Check out all the picks in this new mock draft update and see how this huge trade impacts multiple picks.
