This past week, we welcomed a group of farmers and WWS New Zealand employees to the US to visit Select Sires headquarters, in addition to 8 dairy farms in the region. It was a beautiful day in Ohio where the group got a glimpse into operations at SSI, and got to see bull 7HO12344 Rager-Red, pictured below. Throughout the trip, the group learned a lot about farm management techniques in Ohio and New York. Thank you to all the farms who graciously hosted this group!

Fertile cows that breed back quickly are critical to your profitability and reduce involuntary culling. The average cost of one day open ranges from $2 to $6* โ apply this loss to your whole herd and low reproductive performance can greatly impact your bottom line. With WWS genetics, you can achieve your operational goals by using sires that excel for daughter fertility.*Dairy Cattle Reproduction Council. โThe Dollar Value of a Pregnancy.โ

"Queenstown is recognized as one of the most beautiful spots in the world, and we enjoyed the fresh air and views after meeting with the local team. We did some team building and listening exercises, which included re-packing sem*n from a tipped tank and making matching paper airplanes. The NZ sales team has deep knowledge and experience in the dairy industry, with a special focus on grazing systems and sustainability. We are looking forward to watching them achieve their goals!" - Rebekah Mast, Vice President Global Talent Development & Brian Albertoni, Area Director of Marketing#HereForYou

"Given the stringent criteria to meet our grazing system, functional, productive and long living cows are profitable cows. High fertility ties into the above, assisting the cows to become pregnant faster and more effectively." - Phillip Mueller of Milkwood Farm in South Africa

"Clean, comfortable cows are happy, healthy cows that give milk, express heat and get pregnant. Any stressor we subject a cow to will compromise immune function and shift nutrients away from normal biological processes; #reproduction is one of these biological processes. Cow comfort is the most overlooked factor affecting #fertility."
